Government of Albion

The Ministry a synonymous term for the government of Albion. Headed by a Prime Minister, the Ministry is the peoples' voice in the government — although that voice usually speaks for richer Albian citizens. It conducts its business in the Halls of Ministry, part of the Palace of Whitehall in the Palace District of Arturia.

The institution of the Ministry is a relatively new addition to the culture of Albion, compared to the long history of absolute monarchy in that nation. The first Ministry was set up immediately following the Albian Civil War and is a body of elected officials that shares equal power with the crown. There has always been a kind of tension between the two governing bodies, but matters of state regularly work themselves out without resorting to bloodshed.

The current Ministry is considered by many to be scandalously liberal in regards to social policy and the treatment of the poor. The current Prime Minister is NAMEHERE, a promising new electee who, despite public consternation with the Ministry's policies, is quite likable and well-meaning. The Minister of Internal Affairs — a position one step lower than that of the Prime Minister — is a less visible, reclusive man named Octavius Latimer.
